The Northern Networks event on Social Justice will be a collaboration between special interest groups (SIGs) and networks from the Nordic Educational Research Association (NERA), the Scottish Educational Research Association (SERA), the British Educational Research Association (BERA) and the Educational Studies Association of Ireland (ESAI). It encapsulate the richness of our collective efforts on the theme of Social Justice and encourages dialogue between all.
The Northern Networks event will take place on Zoom on the 29th January 2026 at 18.00.

The event will feature four short presentations with discussion as follows
1. Poverty and Education Network (SERA): (Presenter: Prof Stephen McKinney)
2. Social Justice SIG (BERA): (Presenter: Dr Liliana Belkin, University of Roehampton, London, UK)
3. Justice through education (JustEd) (NERA): (Presenters: Dr. Tuuli From, University of Helsinki, Finland and Dr Heidi Vartiainen Huilla, University of Eastern Finland, Finland).
4. Critical and Feminist Research SIG (ESAI): (Presenter: Prof Geraldine Mooney-Simmie, University of Limerick, Ireland)
