This call is an invitation to the NERA research community to explore the theme Pedagogy of Hope: Gratitude, Diversity, and Sustainability in Education. It is an essential theme in contemporary educational research and practice for several reasons. First, it reminds us of the meaning of why societies should value education: the hope for a more equal and just world. Second, the theme hopefully also seeks to challenge ready-made answers and assumptions about what education is for. In the Nordic countries, we must defend our values of a democratic, just society and our hope in its continuum; this is why educational research and theorizing matter, perhaps more now than ever, because of market economy values gaining more and more grounds.

The abstracts are submitted via Oxford Abstracts service. You need to sign/log in first to the service.

Due to the number of participants and the schedule, it is only possible to present one paper or a poster as the first presenter. You can participate as a co-author in multiple papers or posters, but it cannot be guaranteed that there is no overlap of the presenting program. In addition to presenting a paper or poster, it is possible to be a presenter in a symposium or a roundtable discussion.
