Call for book chapters / NERA conference 2026

Dear NERA member,

We are pleased to invite chapter proposals for an edited volume titled:

Didaktik and Assessment: Conceptual Reconfigurations, Governance Transformations, and Pedagogical Practices (From a Nordic Point of View)
(eds. Tobias Werler & Eline Wiese, University of Oslo)

The volume explores how assessment has evolved from a pedagogical practice into a structuring mechanism of governance, curriculum, and professional accountability—and how this transformation reconfigures, challenges, or potentially merges with the Didaktik tradition.

We welcome theoretical, empirical, comparative, and critical contributions engaging with the tensions and intersections between Bildung/Didaktik and assessment/curriculum traditions.

We would be very pleased to receive a proposal from you and would appreciate it if you could circulate the call within relevant networks.

Note: We will host a brief presentation of the book at the upcoming NERA conference in Aarhus during the NETWORK 9 “General Didactics” network meeting. The presentation will take place Thursday,  5th of March, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in room B6.10. Please join us if you would like to meet the editors in person.
