Call for papers: Social Pedagogy Network in NERA 2026
The annual conference of Nordic Educational Research Association (NERA) will be held on March 4th to 6th at VIA University College in Aarhus, Denmark (see https://nera-conference-2026.via.dk/).
As part of the conference, the Social Pedagogy Network will organize paper sessions around social pedagogical questions. As coordinators for the Social Pedagogy Network, we welcome you to submit an abstract and share your research or fieldwork experiences connected to social pedagogy. It is also possible to present a poster. In addition to the paper sessions and poster presentations, the network welcomes suggestions for symposia, roundtable discussions, and workshops. Information about the different types of presentations can be found here: https://nera-conference-2026.via.dk/presentation-types.
The Conference has an overall theme of “Courage and Agency in Education for the Present”. The presentations in the Social Pedagogy Network can but don’t need to deal with the theme. However, they are expected to connect to social pedagogy as a discipline or a field of practice. They can explore questions related to e.g. life chancing opportunities for people in vulnerable positions, ways to fight marginalisation, perspectives to integration and emancipation of young people, new approaches to wellbeing at schools etc.
Online submission for the abstracts will be open from October 10th to November 11th 2025: https://nera-conference-2026.via.dk/presentation-types
