About

The primary research focus of this NERA network is on teaching and learning through art, music, drama, sloyd, craft, design, and dance (collectively referred to as the Arts). The aesthetic dimensions are central in the Arts, with curiosity and creativity being considered vital resources for learning and change. We invite researchers with varying theoretical and methodological approaches to explore and study the Arts in both formal and informal educational contexts.

The network’s aim is to stimulate researchers from the Nordic countries and beyond to meet, exchange ideas, and discuss research. It serves as a platform for researchers to explore and showcase the pedagogical insights provided by the Arts in education, particularly its contributions to society, cultures, and individuals.

We welcome presentations on completed research as well as research-in-progress. A pre-conference is planned for March 4, 2024, in Helsinki. More information will be provided at a later date.
