{"id":119,"date":"2023-05-04T07:33:52","date_gmt":"2023-05-04T07:33:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nfpf.net\/nera-network-16\/?page_id=119"},"modified":"2025-12-03T09:15:40","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T09:15:40","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/nfpf.net\/nera-network-16\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Network 16:&nbsp;The Nordic Society for Philosophy of Education<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Nordic society for philosophy of education<\/em> is a society consisting of Nordic philosophers of education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The aims of the society are<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>to foster dialogue among philosophers of education in the Nordic countries, as well as with other philosophy of education societies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to coordinate, facilitate and support exchange of ideas, information and experiences in philosophy of education, to encourage joint and comparative research; to cooperate in publishing and in organizing meetings for in-depth discussions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to recruit new participants to the field of philosophy of education<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Philosophy of education <\/em>is an internationally well established field of knowledge&nbsp;addressing vital questions in&nbsp;educational practice and theory. Philosophy of education can be&nbsp;defined as \u201cthe philosophical study of educational issues\u201d. For example, it might study what constitutes upbringing and education, the values and norms revealed through upbringing and educational practices, the limits and legitimacy of education as an academic discipline, and the relation between educational theory and practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;journal&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;society&nbsp;is&nbsp;<em>Speki<\/em><em>. Nordic Philosophy and Education Review<\/em>.<em> <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Speki<\/em>&nbsp;aims to further a lively and critical dialogue on philosophical, theoretical, normative and conceptual issues relevant for educational research, policy and practice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This journal is a peer-reviewed, electronic, open access and non-profit journal that publishes original contributions within the field of philosophy of education. The articles can vary from philosophical analyses of topical issues regarding teaching, learning, informal education and upbringing, to in-depth studies of foundational philosophical questions relevant to today\u2019s policies and practices. The journal publishes special issues devoted to critical analyses and debates on topical issues of educational and philosophical relevance. Moreover, the journal contains a section for book reviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Speki.
